The Avalon Sky Lab is an innovative structure which has been built to match our existing barn, it has a roof that rolls off to reveal the sky for both stellar and solar observing.

Led by David Cohn, Director of the Educational Projects Network.

Meet at the Avalon Barn, click here for directions.

Stay Tuned for our next event.

The Avalon Sky Lab houses several permanently mounted telescopes and is used in conjunction with educational programs here at Avalon. These include observing and imaging a variety of celestial objects and events including sunspots and solar flares.

Naturally, the Avalon Sky Lab is a welcome addition to our current monthly astronomy programs. These have included the use of a portable planetarium in all weather conditions, and have featured a variety of portable telescopes on clear nights. The permanent Avalon Sky Lab enclosure allows us to make telescopes available on a moment's notice and helps us provide more frequent viewing opportunities.
